Dr. Christine Howard

I believe in helping clients identify their strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and improve their overall well-being.

When providing psychological testing and evaluations, I work closely with clients and their families to help them understand why they are having challenges with school, work, peers, or emotions. I believe that fully understanding yourself or your child is an essential first step in getting the right treatment and support. I also strongly believe in early identification and intervention. By catching problems early and getting started with timely interventions, children are more likely to reach their potential and less likely to struggle with frustration and self-doubt.

As a therapist, I am committed to helping teens and adults who are feeling anxious and sad, and who are struggling to cope with life changes and relationship problems. Through my warm and non-judgmental approach, I help clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I help them learn strategies for coping with uncomfortable feelings and challenging situations. Therapy helps clients get unstuck by discovering what is getting in their way so that they can take care of themselves and lead the lives they want.

I earned my doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in clinical psychology from George Washington University in 2012. During my training, I provided therapy and psychological evaluations for children, teens, and adults in various clinical settings, including community mental health centers, private outpatient clinics, charter schools, and a college counseling center. I have provided therapy and psychological evaluations for clients in Virginia since 2013. I founded Evermay Psychology in 2021.
